Margarete Hurn has built up an extensive knowledge of the Slovak culture and way of living through many years of involvement with the Slovak community in Southern California, and as an instructor of English, including teaching at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava.
She is an experienced traveler of Central Europe having lived and worked in Slovakia and Austria for five years. She began her travels through the former Czechoslovakia at the age of 15. Since that time she has seen first hand the political, economic, and social changes that have taken place.
