Heading to Slovakia
I’ll be in Slovakia for the next several weeks, visiting the in-laws and as many friends as I can arrange it with. I’m very excited. It’s been more than two years since I was last in Slovakia.
I’ll also be taking the time to update the book and think about future book possibilities, as well as get re-energized for providing information and posts that foreigners to Slovakia might find interesting or useful.
Additionally, I hope this trip will remind me of some of the many things I found interesting and noteworthy as a foreigner in a country so different than my own.

Pork, potatoes and cabbage. I probably won’t even get homesick—not for familiar food anyway. I’m leaving June 24th for Martin, Slovakia to help teach English at the Lutheran Bible School at Martin. The 1st 2 weeks I’ll be working with St Andrews in Mahtomedi MN. The 2nd 2 weeks I’ll be with a group from First Lutheran in Fargo but working in a Pribvoce. I’ve allowed a few extra days at the end of my stay to visit Hungary. I’ll be home the July 30th. Our goal is stated quite well in these 2 sentences; Teaching Conversational English Once again we have a marvelous opportunity to teach adult students of the Bible School in a required English course in their program. These students are learning English so that upon graduation they will be able to teach and lead groups of children and youth in the Christian faith worldwide.
