Kde je... ? #7

In which town can you find this famous square?

If you are thinking that the obelisk that is the Soviet war memorial is unique to this town and could therefore narrow down the possibilities, it probably wouldn’t help. Soviet war memorials can be found in many towns across Slovakia.

Yep, it's BB :) You can see the yellow clock tower a little off to the left, and the white building on the right with the two towers is Katedrála sv.Františka Xaverského - the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier.

You are all right Who gets the prize .. Hey Margarete ,,was that a pun with " clock tower off to the left " . Well the clock tower is actually " off ". If you have had a chance to view it head on you will see that it has settled to the right due to a slow failure of the foundation ... Just another FYI from here... Banska Bystrica was a great place to spend a day. Correct me if I'm wrong ..but is the Slovak National Museum and War Park around the corner??? Thanks, Joe.

Funny, Joe, I never knew that the tower is in reality slightly "off" to one side. I can imagine that's a realistic occurrence to a tower that old. Banska Bystrica is a great place to spend a day, and the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising (Múzeum SNP) is a must. For those who are interested, it's located in a park that includes an open-air museum of heavy military equipment.
